How to watch the 2022 Australian Open for FREE!
Watch the 2022 Australian Open for Free, Live and On-Demand. All you need is a VPN connection to Australia and a 9Now account.
👉 Get the VPN: vpnu.cc/pia
The Australian Open is the first major of the ATP and WTA season each year, and it's a can't-miss event for tennis fans. But it can be hard to watch if you don't have a cable subscription that includes ESPN (in the USA) or Prime Video (in the UK).
But you can access all the live and on-demand Australian Open matches by creating an account on 9now.com.au. All you need is a VPN service with a server located in Australia in order to access the website.
We tested Private Internet Access VPN and it worked flawlessly, with no buffering. We recommend PIA because it has extremely fast servers and more importantly, adjustable encryption strength. This lets you maintain 1080p bandwidth even when streaming from Australia.

thank you very much. man. i liked your help video. it helped me to make vpn-connection for my Oculus to Meta. thanks. best regards and Merry XMas :)
Hands down the best video demonstrating the process to setup a VPN on the router 😊
Hi I have the Asus RT-AC1200 V 2 . But I don't see a VPN tab in the advanced settings?
Thanks great Video.
Would this work for blocked websites at school?
This was so much informative! Thanks!
when i activate the server it spins then an x , authentication failed.it used to work?? any thoughts
Awesome lesson! I really appreciate you helping with this issue I had over a year now... One quick question: Can you route traffic around a specific streaming service like VUDU, they completely block VPNs and I hate to keep turning the VPN on and off, on and off!? Thanks
I spent the whole night last night trying to set this connection up and here we are today after watching your video for like the first 11 minutes, I am done setting my connection. That was really well done. Thanks a bunch and Great Job.
This video saved me a lot of time. Great work!
great video, helped lots
So I went with the asus, and the sofware seems to be difrent than when u uploaded this, And I cant seem to get it to work, do you have another video for the new sofware interface? I have the 11000 asus router
You tou so much man, i was wondering if asus has any apps to control these connections? Also if the vpn service goes offline would you get any error or would it switch automatically to your original provider?
I was panicking when I downloaded it and people said it was "SpyWare".
this is which model?
AC68U
No point using Opera VPN. 👍
So do we trust ASUS is not sending your info to PRC agents?
This is easily testable with packet-sniffing and other network inspection tools. ASUS routers are widely used and tested by infosec professionals. If this was happening we would have found out years ago. All your PC hardware is made in Asia. At some point you have to either trust it or live in the stone age.
Just set everything up, fantastic
Right on!
Excellent stuff thanks a million. I'm gonna try it out with ipvanish. Cheers!
Sounds good, it should work just as well. VPNUniversity has a special discount offer for IPVanish: www.vpnuniversity.com/go/ipvanish
Have 2 Asus routers one is the main router and the other is set up as a AIMesh. I assume I only need to do the install in the first router and not on the AIMesh. Am I correct ?
I believe that's correct, yes.
VERY NICE TUTORIAL. Made me understand how vpn works with asus routers. Great! Do you think it is possible to use pi-hole for ad-blocking and use VPN for some devices through policy rules? i want to use 2 boxes for streaming and all the others device to be ad-blocked with pi-hole. To use pi-hole, it must be set as DNS 1 in LAN options and to prevent dns leak this case should be blank. thanks
Great video! Question: do you know how to 1) install the feature or "johns" fork of Merlin software that allows control of the transmission power and beacon interval? I don't need full power and want it to run cool/last long. 2) make sure its the correct file size. No malware?
Great video! Excellent explanations. Questions: 1) is self hosting your own vpn using Linux on an old computer or pi the safest way like many pros insist? 2) is it normal to get 6 devices listed in the router connected device history list even though i only have 4 devices that use the locked down router? I have a hell of a time figuring out which ip addresses are which device buy since my phone's already to be dynamic? I often get a 5th odd jaoanese name on my network that Google says is a light manufacturer or something.
omg thank you so much, you save me, even tho this is 2017, you the mvp.
The core firmware will stay the same for the life of the router, so these tutorials should always work if you're running ASUSWRT
@@Vpnuniversity yes about that, how were I able to change vpn when someone want to give me the boot cause they are salty. Lol any advice on that. I'm not a tech guy, my setup is sample. I have my network router connected to asus to my ps4.
good day sir, if i pair modem b618 with ac86u, is it possible? any tutorial pair for this one..tq in advance
You can use pretty much any router or modem in front of the ASUS VPN router. This guide might help: www.vpnuniversity.com/routers/setup-two-routers-with-dedicated-vpn-router
I am running merlin on my nighthawk I am having issues with setting up my express VPN. I don't know if you can help
I'd consult your ExpressVPN setup guides and then talk to live chat support if you still can't get it working.
Excellent
Thank you! Cheers!
Excellent
Nice, still works in 2021!!
When using the PIA VPN Client setup on an Asus router with *Dual Wan* - does the VPN cover both Wan connections simultaneously?
I'm not 100% certain, but I think so yes. Test it and see, and let us know!
Thanks for this very clear tutorial clear as your voice.. Im your new subsciber
Thanks! Please let me know if you have any suggestions for future videos.
at last, I can use roku here in my country with hbo max!!! thanks to this very simple tutorial. whew!!! thanks a lot!
You are welcome!
Great video! Will this work in roku? I mean my roku is at my TV then it will read wifi signal. I'm getting geoblocks. Thanks.
Yep, it should work. I just published a brand new tutorial on other setup methods if you don't have a compatible router: www.vpnuniversity.com/streaming/vpn-smart-tv
hi I got to the step of going into VPN Client however I don't have the option for "Openvpn" only PPTP, L2TP - I called their call center and they do not seem to know how why. But if I am using expressvpn can I use the other options other than Openvpn?
You're in luck! ExpressVPN still supports PPTP. www.expressvpn.com/support/vpn-setup/manual-config-for-asus-router-with-pptp/ Regarding why you don't have an OpenVPN option, I'm guessing you either have a lower-end asus router, or possibly are using a re-branded router like T-mobile's version of the AC68U?
@@Vpnuniversity superb. You are absolutely amazing. You can’t imagine how many times I tried google search for this page.
Thanks for the video. But what if the Asus router is connected behind the ISP modem/router. It doesn't work with me probably because of that..😔
Erik, is should definitely work behind an ISP router. In fact, that's how I have my network configured. You may need to check the router logs to see if a configuration error is causing it not to work. Also, try manually adding DNS servers in your router settings. 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 is Google DNS. This step has fixed non-working connections for some VPNs in my testing.
@@Vpnuniversity thnx I'll check!
Please my friend I want to add ipvanish to rt-n66u router
It should work. The n66u works with any OpenVPN provider.
I have this very router had been sitting in the box. Came across your set-up video so I busted it out of box and set it up. The way you explain this stuff is superb. I have a question though. I have gigabit internet. The router which was supplied by my provider pulls 1G. I bridged one port on it and hooked up the Asus but the speed is down to 300-400 with hard wired or Wi-Fi. Any idea why? Thanks.
So with a wired connection from your PC to the Asus and wired from Asus to your ISP router you're losing over 60% of speed? That is weird. I wonder if there's some QOS feature enabled on your ISP router that caps bandwidth on each LAN port? Thanks for the positive feedback on the video! I'm working hard to improve my content quality. If you have any suggestions for videos related to VPN or privacy let me know.
can I use dns filter and nord vpn at the same time?
Probably. It's possible the DNS filter won't work. Try it and let us know!
@@Vpnuniversity yah, doesn't work =/, any idea? the dns filter is crucial for my daily use since I have two family members working at home with laptops and cellphones
Hmm. Well you could try using policy rules on Merlin and only route your devices through the VPN (not your family members). ua-cam.com/video/wO1M6L-A3og/v-deo.html
@@Vpnuniversity greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat advice, thanks for the link =]
Happy to help, glad it was useful!
Need a tutorial on how to configure my Asus Router with Merlin, mine is the Asus RT-AC68U
If you mean how to install ASUS-WRT merlin, it's as easy as going to the official website, download the software for your router model and install it using the 'firmware update' feature of the admin panel. It's a very easy process and there's almost no risk of bricking your router compared to other firmware like DD-WRT.
@@Vpnuniversity thanks a bunch, I now have my router with merlin
how much speed u getting?
This is exactly what I was looking for, need to route just my smart TV to the tunnel, thanks a bunch
You're welcome!
How many remote devices can the asus OpenVPN setup handle?
The router should be able to hand the same number of devices whether or not your using the VPN. The main limit will be speed if you're downloading/streaming from many devices at once. Speeds will max out around 40mbps overall with a 128-bit VPN.
I was able to connect, receving a new public IP, but when I go to IPlocation.net, the public IP that is found does not match what it should be on the created VPN client. - UPDATE i was able to get a public IP but no any device I put into the VPN loses internet connection.
Try adding custom DNS servers like google DNS (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) under LAN settings
Works a treat. Thank you so much.
Great to hear!
Works perfect
Great video!! Helped me a lot, thanks!
Glad to hear it!
Thanks a million!
You're welcome!
GREAT video, helped me so much to setup my Asus with merlin. Cheers. I have a unique problem, though. I set up my router with my VPN so I can hide my IP while gaming. The connection is great, but during party chat my friends say my voice goes "robot mode" and cuts in and out. Is there any way to make the router faster? The server I've chosen is a city away from me. The connection is wired with an ethernet cable. ANY help is appreciated.
My VPN gives me 3 servers every time, where as you are only given one? How do I make it so I'm only using 1 server?
Which router model are you using? If you're using a single-cpu router like the n66u, you'll struggle to break 15mbps. To improve speeds you should try to use 128-bit config if your VPN provider offers them. If they don't have 128-bit OpenVPN you could try PPTP and see if speeds in improve. Far-away servers often mean slower speeds.
VPN University it’s an Asus ac86u - I’ve figured out how to get faster mbps. Plus I’m going to install the Flex Qos firmware into it! Cheers! I’ll look up how to do the 120 bit configure. Thank you!
As long as they are your VPN's DNS servers, it doesn't matter if there's more than 1.
@@Vpnuniversity So you mean that AC68U will not be able to manage a 100/100Mbit connection with 256-AES encryption, because of it's 800MHz processor? It's the router I'm currently using since 2014 (w Merlin). I'm gonna upgrade to that 100/100 connection in a couple of months and change ISP, and would also like to invest in a VPN at the same time. Would I need to invest in a new router as well? What do you recommend to achieve at least 80-90Mbit down and up? Will the AC86U be enough for it? Anything else? Devices with more or equal 2 cores is the only requirement for it? Of course, I'd like to something new, something better... preferably an ASUS router with a possibility to flash Merlin software.
Hi.. i have a question about my router asus rt ac3200 i set vpn on my router when activated my network is disconnected. Is there any way to solve like this problem..thanks
Often this can be fixed by specifying DNS servers under LAN > DHCP > DNS. IF that doesn't fix it, you may have to check the router logs to get an idea of what's causing the issue.
Advice Needed Please: Thank you for this video, however, I am a novice and would be very grateful for some advice. I have the ASUS 4G-AC55U router (live in the sticks so my LTE signal is stronger than the phoneline/broadband speed. I've been using a mag322 IPTV box for 18 months, problem-free. Suddenly in June, the stream would go black and then come back on (approx every 20 seconds). Since June, I have replaced the magbox with new, replaced the simcard from my current provider with a new one, but the problem persists. So then I tried another providers simcard for a month, the problem stopped immediately. After some research, I think my current LTE cell service provider is blocking (or using an iPLOCK/traffic throttling) to disrupt streaming of the content? I found the following, libertyshield.kayako.com/article/8-mag-box-with-vpn-router however, do I need this additional router/vpn subscription to my existing set-up; in order to resolve the issue? Or, should my asus 4g-AC55U be able to fulfil the VPN issue? I want to create a VPN client/server network and then only allow the IPTV MAGBOX device, to access the VPN (which is encrypted) and hopefully stops the issue I am experiencing with the screen blanking out every 20 seconds? I would really be grateful for your insight and advice? I think i'm correct that my router should be able to handle the above as its advertised as "VPN Server and Client for Encrypted Remote Connection With the virtual private network (VPN) server and VPN client, you can access your home network remotely or surf the internet with encryption, no need for paid VPN services or a dedicated VPN server. Thanks so much, any advice is appreciated.
If your AC55U has VPN client functionality, then that should work. It is under-powered though, so your speeds will probably max out between 8 and 15mbps which may or may not be fast enough. Just to clarify, the server functionality won't do you any good. You need to use the built-in VPN client along with a VPN service like NordVPN: vpnu.cc/nordvpn If you connect to your own server, your VPN end-point is still behind the same 4G connection being throttled.
4:33, what to do when there is no option of open vpn?
You can set up PPTP instead. It's an outdated protocol and less secure than OpenVPN, but still strong enough for most consumer VPN uses (streaming, torrents, private browsing)
